Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common disorders diagnosed in children. Symptoms begin in childhood, and usually continue into teen years and adulthood. For many children with ADHD, symptoms can cause difficulty at home, school or with friends, and range from mildly disruptive to more severe. Early diagnosis may help guide parents in how to best support their child. Treatment may include behavioral therapy, medication management, or typically a combination of the two.

Family Medical offers screening for ADHD utilizing the Vanderbilt Diagnostic Rating (VADRS) for children aged 5-12 who attend school. If you have concerns and feel your child may benefit from this screening, please contact our office to schedule an initial consultation with one of our providers.
