Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common disorders diagnosed in children. Symptoms begin in childhood and usually continue into teen years and adulthood. For many children with ADHD, symptoms can cause difficulty at home, school, or with friends and range from mildly disruptive to more severe. Early diagnosis may help guide parents in how to best support their child. Treatment may include behavioral therapy, medication management, or typically a combination of the two.

Breastfeeding offers many benefits to both mothers and babies but can sometimes be quite challenging in the beginning. A lactation consultant will educate and support women in various areas such as finding a comfortable feeding position, developing a strong latch, recognizing hunger cues, developing a feeding schedule, increasing or supporting your milk supply, and assisting with expressing milk either by hand or pump.

If you have questions or need additional support with your breastfeeding journey, Family Medical can help. Lauren Basque, FNP, is a certified lactation consultant and available for breastfeeding support. She will meet with you to answer questions and understand any areas of concern. Lauren will observe a feeding while providing hands-on support and direction, weigh your baby pre- and post-feed to determine milk transfer, and then develop a plan for managing feeding moving forward.

Testosterone levels peak in adolescence and early adulthood and can begin to slowly decline for men after age 40. This decline can be subtle with very few, if any, symptoms.
